Steve LeClair is one of the founding partners of Gibson LeClair, LLC. As the firm’s audit partner, he directs the firm’s quality control and is responsible for the firm’s nonprofit engagements.

Steve received his Bachelor’s degree from Husson University. Steve’s prior employment history includes working for the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Audit as an audit supervisor; additionally he held a financial management position with a community action agency, as well as a position as controller with a private, for-profit corporation. Steve has worked continuously on nonprofit and social service/community action agency financial and federal and state compliance audits and has extensive experience in the preparation and review of annual MaineCare and PNMI Cost Reports and assists clients on appeals and resolutions with the State DHHS Division of Audit.

Steve currently serves as a Fiscal Consultant for the Office of Head Start National Center on Program Management and Fiscal Operations, providing program and fiscal expertise to grantees throughout the country that administer the federal Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

He is a member of:

  • The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
  • The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants

Steve has previously served as Chair of the State of Maine MAAP Appeals Board and as a committee member on the State of Maine MAAP Advisory Board. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Home Care for Maine, and has served as a past Chair and Treasurer of that Organization.
