Senior Manager

Scott Nivus joined Gibson LeClair, LLC in October, 2009. He currently is a senior manager working in both the tax and audit areas of the firm. He is a member of:

• The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
• The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants

Scott earned his bachelor's degree from Thomas College. Scott's prior employment history includes working for several local public accounting firms in Maine and New Hampshire, as well as serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for a marine retail and service yard. His experience includes tax and accounting services to clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, marine, automobile dealerships, retail, hospitality, and professional services. Working in the private sector has given him the experience to better understand accounting systems and the unique needs of internal users of financial and nonfinancial information. He has experience working with a variety of accounting information systems, including off the shelf products such as Peachtree and QuickBooks.

Scott currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterville Country Club, serving as chairperson of the Audit Committee. He has been involved in several other nonprofit organizations over the years, having served as a board member and treasurer.
